It is almost too easy within today’s day and age to find litanies of the flaws found within modern day journalism, and how it is verging on extinction. However, contrary to popular belief, I do believe journalism is an ever-expanding force that is conducive to societies need for information and our rights as humans to both have this information and speak freely about it.
This blog, although a part of my degree, will be used as a means to showcase my works. Each week, developing my ideas and beliefs surrounding journalism and both it’s struggles, and successes.
Journalism is about adapting to change, learning about it and utilising this to project to an audience.
Social change and action is at the heart of any well-equipped journalist.
As the great Tom Stoppard once said “I still believe that if your aim is to change the world, journalism is a more immediate short-term weapon.”
